Restless Mouse Radio "Liner Notes"

We have even more delightful horrors in store for you in 2009, the plan is to gradually DOUBLE the playlist in 09, So if some of it is getting a little repetitive, that should help. So if some of it is getting a little repetitive, that should help.

I don't know what the algorythm is, but it does seem that LIVE365's "random" shuffle seems to favor certain tracks. Or is that just my imagination? Not sure, but a wise man once said that the generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance. I'm just saying.

But I digress.
Recently we have been on a "So bad it's good... Or is it?" kick. Fortunately for you, I can't find my Mrs. Miller CD. Her version of "Downtown" is the best. And by the best I mean the worst. I do have Allan Sherman's "Crazy Downtown". I guess his creative juices ran out writing the parody song, not much of a parody title on that one.

Of course no collection of so-bad music would be complete without the musical stylings of Richard Cheese. His "Baby Got Back" actually makes it sound almost... classy.

Not sure if Gordon Calcotte fits this so-bad category, his country-fried recordings of "Big Time Operator" and "Mr. Juke Box" are so doggone earnest, and seemingly over the top, but isn't that a hallmark of a Cowboy Mega-hit? Yet until I stumbled onto his music, I had never heard of him. You be the judge!

IT'S MY STATION

Some songs get ranked down as far as a single star, but within that sub-group you all are hating on, there are a few that I can't bear to pull off the station. For example, I don't understand why folks don't love Art Carney's "Song of the Sewer". If only more people brought such a good attitude to the workplace...

... And the same goes for Jerry Colonna's "Bell Bottom Trousers" and a few others... Don't worry, eventually even I will become sick and tired of those tracks.
